Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

Acceptance of terms

Avarice ("the platform") is operated by CWB Events Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as Avarice ("Avarice", "we", "us"). By accessing or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

These terms apply to all users: event planners, AV suppliers (companies and freelancers), and visitors.

The platform

Avarice is a platform that connects event planners with AV suppliers. We provide tools for specifying AV requirements, generating production briefs, comparing supplier quotes, confirming bookings and processing payments between planners and suppliers.

The contract for the supply of AV services is between the planner and the supplier — Avarice is not a party to that contract and is not responsible for the supplier's performance of it. Avarice collects payment from the planner on the supplier's behalf and remits it to the supplier, less our commission, through our payment processor. Payment made through the platform discharges the planner's payment obligation to the supplier for the amount paid.

For planners

Use of Avarice is free for event planners. By using the platform you agree to: provide accurate information when building specs and briefs; only send briefs to suppliers you have a genuine intention to engage; not misrepresent your event, budget, or requirements; pay for bookings confirmed through the platform via the platform, on the payment schedule shown when you accept a quote.

Avarice AI tools (brief generation, quote analysis) are provided as decision-support only. You are responsible for verifying all outputs before acting on them.

For suppliers

Suppliers must apply to join Avarice and be approved before appearing in the directory. By joining you agree to: provide accurate profile, service and pricing information; respond to matched briefs within your stated turnaround time; maintain your Avarice kit pricing to reflect your current market rates; not poach planners introduced through Avarice for work conducted outside the platform.

Commission on confirmed bookings is charged at the rate applicable to your subscription tier. Commission is calculated on the total confirmed booking value and is automatically deducted at the point of payment — when a planner pays through the platform, commission is taken at source and the balance is transferred directly to the supplier.

Commission and payments

Avarice charges a commission on bookings confirmed through the platform. Current commission rates are: Basic 15%, Essential 10%, Professional 7%, Enterprise 5%, AV Crew 10%.

All booking payments are processed through the platform via Stripe. When a planner accepts a quote, a deposit (a percentage of the booking value set by the supplier on the quote, up to a maximum of 50%) is due within 5 business days, with the balance due 14 days before the event. For events booked fewer than 14 days out, the full amount is due at booking. Funds are held and released to the supplier in line with our Refund & Cancellation Policy, with commission deducted before release.

Subscription fees for paid supplier tiers are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.

Cancellations and refunds

Every quote carries a cancellation policy selected by the supplier (Flexible, Standard or Strict), shown to the planner before the quote is accepted and fixed on the booking from that point. What is refunded on cancellation depends on that policy and how far ahead of the event the cancellation is made. Cancellations cannot be submitted through the platform within 48 hours of the event, refunds on planner-initiated cancellations are made net of non-recoverable payment processing costs, and the costs of a supplier-initiated cancellation are borne by the cancelling supplier — full details, including refund timescales, are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Supplier pricing and platform integrity

Suppliers agree that prices entered in the kit inventory must reflect genuine market rates. Avarice uses aggregated supplier pricing to provide anonymous market average benchmarks to planners.

Suppliers must not enter artificially inflated or deflated rates to manipulate market averages. Avarice reserves the right to investigate and remove suppliers found to be gaming pricing data.

Intellectual property

Avarice and its content, design, software and data are owned by or licensed to CWB Events Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute platform content without written permission.

Content you submit (briefs, profiles, custom item submissions) remains yours. By submitting it you grant Avarice a licence to use it for the purpose of operating the platform.

Limitation of liability

Avarice is provided "as is". We make no guarantees about platform availability, accuracy of AI-generated content, or the quality of suppliers listed.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Avarice's liability is limited to the fees (subscription fees and commission) paid by you to Avarice in the 12 months preceding any claim. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic losses.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Termination

Avarice may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our discretion with reasonable notice.

You may stop using the platform at any time. To request deletion of your data, contact hello@avarice-av.co.uk

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
