Avarice is a UK platform for event AV production, operated by CWB Events Ltd and trading as Avarice. Event planners build a structured AV spec, send it as a brief to the AV suppliers they choose, compare the quotes that come back and book through the platform. Payment is made through Avarice and held until after the event.
Event planners, PAs and marketing teams who book AV for conferences, award dinners, product launches and corporate events. AV companies use Avarice to receive structured briefs they can quote from without a long discovery call. Venues partner with Avarice to give their clients a managed AV workflow.
Avarice is free for event planners, always. There are no planner-side fees and nothing on the planner side is gated behind payment.
AV suppliers pay commission on confirmed bookings only. The free Basic plan carries 15% commission and paid plans from £49 a month reduce that rate, down to 5% on the top plan. Full details are on the pricing page.
You pay through the platform when you accept a quote, by card, pay-by-bank or bank transfer. Your money is held by our payment provider and the balance only reaches the supplier after the event. You never hand an AV company everything up front. Cancellations and refunds are handled under our refund policy.
Each supplier sets the cancellation policy on their quote, either one of our templates or a scale of their own. It is shown to the planner in full before the quote is accepted. How much of the deposit comes back depends on that policy and on how far ahead of the event the cancellation is made. Any balance already paid is refunded whatever the notice period. Yes. Avarice issues it in the supplier's name at every payment, acting as their payment-collection agent. If the supplier isn't VAT registered no VAT is added and the invoice reflects that.
No. Match scores and recommendations are advisory only. Your brief is sent to the suppliers you explicitly select and to nobody else. Nothing on Avarice auto-sends your event to a list.
Every AV company applies to join and is reviewed before its profile appears in the directory. Suppliers set out their services, coverage and experience on their profile so you can judge the fit yourself.
You enter every figure ex VAT, on quotes and amendments alike. VAT is added automatically when you're registered and passed to you in full. Commission and its VAT are deducted at payout and you get an invoice for it.
Avarice is currently live in the London area only. The rest of the UK will follow and suppliers list the areas they cover on their profiles.
